We don’t live by power tools alone.
Situated on the sixth floor of the Washington Mills, built in Lawrence in 1886, CB Kearney honors not only the craftsmanship of fine furniture, but also all the craftsmen that came before, in an environment designed and built for close work.
I’m an old fashioned guy in modern times. I wouldn’t feel right making centuries old reproductions with this century’s technology. At CB Kearney we employ the finest materials and tools in creating furniture to our exacting standards. Some tools are old, like the 1895 Stanley hand plane and the 1920’s American pattern-maker’s jointer, but there is joy in using tools owned by past craftsmen. Some are new, like the Sawstop cabinet saw and the SCMI shaper, which are selected for their safety, accuracy and versatility. Whether old or new, hand or machine powered, we take pride in the care and maintenance of our tools and expect that, like the furniture they help us create, they will continue to provide joy and service long after we are gone.
Call and make an appointment to stop by the workshop. We are as proud of it as we are of our furniture.
